Our love of cocker spaniels began, for both of us, in childhood.  Ron's was black and mine was red.  When we met and got to know each other we discovered that this was another common bond that we shared.

We married and had two sons but there seemed to be something missing.  It finally dawned on us that there wasn't a cocker spaniel in our lives and we needed one!

I looked at the classified ads and we went to see a litter of cocker puppies that were three weeks old.  I picked out a silver buff and we called her Ginger.  We began going to dog shows and were amazed at how the cockers that were showing looked when we compared them to our Ginger.

Ron was not as enthused as I was about "this dog show thing," but he supported me in my interest and we bought our first show prospect, Buster.  I showed solids in the very beginning, but I absolutely fell in love with the particolors!  We bred several litters and Ron began showing along with me.  Working together we finished  many particolor cockers under the Ka-Ron prefix.

Several years ago I had to stop showing our cockers due to a back injury and bad knees.  Linda Donaldson, PHA, handles our cockers now and we can tell how much she really loves them.

About five years ago Ron and I decided to color cross our CH. Ka-Ron's Jessica (r/w) to a beautiful brown cocker, CH. Roadshow N Legacee Obsession, owned and loved by Sandy Garvin.  As a result of this breeding we have successfully bred several outstanding solids that are showing today.

The health and temperament of our cockers has always been, and will continue to be, of utmost importance to us as we've traveled down this exciting and very rewarding path.  We strive to breed healthy, happy and outgoing cockers that conform to the standard as set forth by the American Spaniel Club.  Ron and I are extremely careful to have OFAs, CERFs, wellness checks and complete blood chemistry panels done on all of our cockers,  particularily our older dogs, to ensure their good health and well being, as well as excellent overall health in our lines.  We look forward to having Ka-Ron puppies showing for many years to come.
